Ich empfehle eine Kopie vom GRAW Spieleordner zu machen, damit kann man das original Spiel vom modifizierten Spiel sauber trennen. Man kann so viele Kopien machen wie man will.
Nach dem installieren hast du eine Verknüpfung am Desktop um den Mod zu starten (mit der Verknüpfung wird eine batch Datei gestartet). Du hast ausserdem im Windows Startmenü einige Einträge, wie z.B. eine Anleitung um den Mod bzw. das gemoddete Spiel zu konfigurieren. Wie z.B. ändern der Soldatenuniform (Skins), usw.
WICHTIG: Das gemoddete Spiel immer über die Verknüpfung am Desktop starten!

I recommend making a copy of the GRAW game folder so that you can separate the original game from the modified game. You can make as many copies as you want.

Custom Maps können hier runtergeladen werden, https://graw.oldschoolfun.eu
Es sollten niemals zu viele custom maps im Spiel abgespeichert werden! Je mehr custom maps gespeichert sind desto länger dauert das starten des Spiels. Das Spiel kontrolliert beim starten jede einzelne Map. Ich würde nicht mehr als ca. 50 Maps speichern.
Hinweis: Wenn du eine custom map im Spiel vom Server herunterladest dann musst du nach dem runterladen das Spiel neu starten um die runtergeladene Map spielen zu können!

Das Spiel benötigte den GameSpy Dienst (http://www.gamespy.com , https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameSpy) damit man Online spielen konnte. Dazu musste im Spiel ein Account bei GameSpy erstellt werden.
GameSpy wurde aber 2013 abgedreht und Online spielen war nicht mehr möglich, viele andere Spiele waren davon betroffen.
Einzige Möglichkeit war noch über LAN zu spielen, das geht auch über das Internet mit VPN Diensten wie z.B. Radmin (https://www.radmin-vpn.com).
Allerdings gibt es mittlerweile das open source Projekt OpenSpy (http://beta.openspy.net/en/) das GameSpy ersetzt und mit dem man wieder die alten Spiele online spielen kann.
Um GRAW über OpenSpy online spielen zu können muss man einerseits das Spiel für OpenSpy modifizieren, man leitet die Verbindung zu GameSpy auf OpenSpy um. Und man muss im Spiel einen Account bei OpenSpy anlegen.
Die modifizierte GRAW.exe für OpenSpy kann man hier runterladen, https://graw.oldschoolfun.eu
Wenn das Spiel für OpenSpy bereit ist dann,

Wenn der selbe Key öfters verwendet wird dann kann jeder der diesen Key verwendet nicht zusammen auf einen Online Server beitreten. Der Server reklamiert dann einen ungültigen CD Key.
Damit hat man seinen eigenen Online Key.

Hier geht es um die PC DVD Version des Spiels! Am besten funktioniert das Spiel unter Windows XP oder Windows 7. Möglich auch unter Linux mithilfe von Wine (https://www.winehq.org) oder auch einen virtuellen PC (VMWare).
Unter neueren Windows Versionen (Win10) gibt es scheinbar große Probleme mit Spielabstürzen -crashes, siehe unten dazu.
Patch v1.35, custom Maps, Mod, OpenSpy modifizierte GRAW.exe kann unter https://graw.oldschoolfun.eu heruntergeladen werden.
Ich empfehle das Spiel auf C:\Games\ oder einer anderen Festplatte/Partition zu installieren. Es ist dann leichter eine oder mehrere Kopien von dem Spiel zu machen. Das ist Sinnvoll wenn du z.B. zum testen verschiedene custom Maps oder auch Mods installieren willst. Das Spiel braucht grundsätzlich keine Registry Einträge. Es kann also auch von einem PC auf den anderen PC kopiert werden.

Hier könnt ihr von mir gesammelte custom Maps und Mods für CoH 1 downloaden. Dazu gibt es von jeder verfügbaren Karte eine Overhead Ansicht.
Auch gibt es alle deutschen und englischen Patches der original DVD Version von CoH 1 zum downloaden.
